Research outputs

Page history last edited by rgomez100100 2 months ago

What do we envision the outputs to look like? It's helpful to consider this at the beginning so that the research makes a difference to the audiences we want to reach.

Examples from Landscape Study

These are two examples from the Landscape study conducted by CIS in 25 countries.  The final report from each country contains a description and analysis of public access environment in the country, and of each type of venue (public libraries, telecentres, cybercafes, other), based on the "Real Access" framework on which the research is designed.

Template for the submission of country reports (could be used to expand landscape analysis in Chile and LIthuania):   final phase 2 template.doc

Country profile, 50 datapoints drawn from publicly available data, validated by each country research team:  Country Profile Example.doc

Reseach Design document:  PAC Project Research Design final version.doc

Expected Research Outputs for Phase 1 of Impact Study

After Seattle Workshop, these are possible research outputs:

1. Country Inventory of Facilities (for each of 3 countries), based on inventory template (in process).

2. Country Mapping of Activities (in several communities, including rural & urban, and with different types of users), based on Guidelines for Relationships Mapping (in process).

3. Research questions & hypotheses that emerge from phase 1 (for each country, and also by research working group), based on Guidelines for Operational Research Questions (tbd).

Other outputs:

  • Guidelines & criteria for additional country selection (working group)
  • Public access landscape analysis, using Landscape study template, for Chile & Lithuania (would need to be included in activities for the country teams)
  • ICTD country profiles, using CIS country profile template, for Chile & Lithuania (in process by CIS)
  • Additional research design ideas and considerations
  • Inventory of international donors activities in ICT4D in the country
