The glossary is the place to note our common understanding of frequently used terms. These terms will be discussed during the 'terminology' portion of the Seattle workshop and will be updated here following that discussion.
PublicAccess : Service delivery that is open to the population at large, indiscriminately, and not directed to one group in the community, to the exclusion of others. It is possible that provision is made to ensure that services are equally available to minority groups who for some reason are not able to use mainstream services. For example, linguistic minorities, people with physical and sensory disabilities or those living in remote communities. (adapted from International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions guidelines)
(note: does not imply owned or operated by the government).
Venue : A facility-based place, such as a public library or cybercafe.
